Take out a tub you never use and put in a walk-in shower with a proper base, membrane and glass.
The tub comes out, the drain is moved to suit the new shower base, and the walls are waterproofed with a sheet or liquid membrane before tile. Most conversions in a standard 5 foot alcove are done in about a week.
You choose between a low-threshold acrylic base, which is quicker and cheaper, or a tiled base with a linear or centre drain. Glass can be a fixed panel or a sliding or hinged door.
If this is the only tub in the house, think about resale and small children before you remove it. We will say so at the estimate.
